Great name for a metalband. Titanium Black is the band from
songwriter/singer Terry LeRoi. Bleed For You is their debut album and they
were lucky enough to make use of the productional talents of Michael
Wagener. The album sounds great as one can expect. Not only the production
but the artwork and cd design looks very professional and not something to
expect from a self released debut album.
Musically the songs on Bleed For You range from melodic metal to a more
hardrock approach with Terry LeRoi covering the different styles in an
impressive way. Ballads (Perfect Love, Deconstruct, Deep) to agressive
pounding songs (Quite A Machine, Handful Of Lies) and even some piercing
highs are no problem for him. Besides Terry the rest of the musicians are
more than capable of getting the job done. Most of the songs have a catchy
almost commercial vibe without becoming real cheesy. The only disappointing
fact on this album is the almost total lack of guitarsolo’s and thus making
this album less metal than I expected. Comparing the music with other bands
would’t do justice to Titanium Black because they have an original sound
thanks to the vocal and songwriting talents of Terry but it’s fair to say
their influences range from Queensryche to Black Sabbath and some bands in
between. Don’t expect US metal or some heavy progressive act because TB just
isn’t into that.
With proper back up from a big record company Titanium Black can grow to the
next big thing in melodic metal suitable for a wide range of fans.
