Koen: On my everlasting search for first-rate heavy metal music, I was
surfing the World Wide Web recently. In an instant I got in touch with
Titanium Black, an act from the New York area, consisting of Terry Michael
LeRoi (vocals), John Matthews (guitars), Aaron Worden (bass), Dave King
(guitars) and Robbie Spagnoletti (drums). I heard some samples on the bands
website and was stupefied instantaneously by its clear sound and powerful
yet melodic soundscapes.
This 2004 self financed album contains fourteen songs (almost an hour worth
of music) and was produced and mixed by the notorious Michael Wagener (Ozzy,
Crüe, Accept…) in 5.1 surround sound, making it one of the first metal
records ever entirely recorded in this format. Musicwise, Titanium Black
sounds dark and melodic whilst LeRoi's vocals sound authoritative. This
ain't no crappy home production, this has become a fucking professional
exercise by a band that deserves to be heard throughout the world! Devotees
of mid Eighties heavy metal bands such as Crimson Glory, Q5, Queensrÿche or
Sanctuary are obliged to buy this CD via the aforementioned homepage for $
15.95 (includes applicable tax, handling and standard USPS shipping). With
each CD, a titanium body jewellery ring, manufactured by LeRoi Inc., ($
30.00 value) is enclosed, so why wait? Spread the news, Titanium Black is
here to conquer the world.
