Heavy metal / power metal

What's Good About It?
First of all, let's face it; they have a kick-ass name!   Second of all, it was produced by Michael Wagener, who is responsible from some of the best metal albums from Skid Row, Motley Crue, Dokken, Stryper, and Testament.   Bleed For You is a successful mix of high-powered electric metal rhythms and passionate mid-tempo balladry. The lyrics are well written and meaningful.   They tackle many topics that we could all relate to; love, loss, struggles with family, searching for a better life, and questioning the existence of a supreme being, to name a few.   On the cranking side of things we have the powerful opening track "Cracks of Light," the guitar driven song of betrayal, "Handful of Lies," and the father vs. son infighting of "Miles Away."    LeRoi's vocals are simply stunning in delivery and range; picture Dream Theatre meets Queensryche.   On the lighter, more emotional side of things we have "Perfect Love," which is accented by a calming string and piano arrangement, the spiritually charged, sometimes bluesy, sometimes heavy epic, "Rain/Celebration of Suffering," and the soothing, yet heartbreaking "Deconstruct."   If you're not into the whole ballad thing, don't fret; most of the down-tempo tracks have a little kick in there somewhere.   Unlike most metal bands, Titanium Black doesn't focus too much on riff driven songs.   The songs are carried by LeRoi's enduring melodic vocals and single note chord picking (that's arpeggios for all you guitar players out there).

Anything Bad?
Nope.

Bottom Line
A very strong debut for these heavy metal newcomers.   The music can kick you in the teeth, make you stomp your feet, jerk a tear from your eye, or send a chill up your spine.   The lyrics speak to the masses, and are delivered with power and sentiment.

Standout Tracks
"Cracks of Light"
"Quite a Machine"
"Torn to Pieces"
"Handful of Lies"
"Rain/Celebration of Suffering"

Did You Know?
Titanium is defined as:   a light, strong, gray, lustrous, corrosion-resistant metallic element used in strong lightweight alloys (as for airplane parts).
